Frequently Asked Questions

Power Coaching College stands apart from most coaching institutions by offering students personalised, one-on-one tuition. We do not compromise the quality of our tuition or the education of our students by placing them in groups.

Q. Is one-on-one coaching better than a group session?
A. We believe that one-on-one tuition, in the student’s home, is the most beneficial form of coaching for the following reasons:
Private tutoring is potentially less distracting.
A rapport can be developed between the student and their private tutor.
Students feel less intimidated by other students – particularly those that are shy or lacking in confidence.
Tutors are better able to focus on a student’s individual needs – after all, students are in group situations in class all day at school – a disadvantage for some students.
Students can work at their own pace with a patient tutor to help build knowledge and confidence.

Q. Can I receive coaching in a specific topic area or do I have to have tutoring in the whole subject?
A. Tutoring is individually tailored to the student’s needs. It can be a whole subject or a particular area – whatever your student requires.

Q. When and where can tutoring occur?
A. Our tutors assist students on a one-to-one basis, in your own home, at times convenient to the family – afternoons, evenings or weekends. We come to you!

Q. Who provides the tutoring?
A. We have a team of tutors from both university and teaching backgrounds, each having outstanding results in their individual subject area. All our tutors have been screened under the current NSW “Working With Children” Screening Unit guidelines.

Q. Do the tutors provide homework?
A. Yes, if that is necessary or requested. Many students have ample homework set by their school and with some students already struggling with this load additional homework may not be beneficial.

Q. If a lesson is missed what happens?
A. A make-up session can be arranged provided adequate notice is given prior to the missed session. This session can be arranged during the next week or in the holidays.

Q. What are the fees and how are payments made?
A. The fees are variable and depend upon the student’s educational level and requirements. We provide a free assessment of the student’s needs and at this point we will be able to let you know what the fee will be. Payments are required to be made in advance either by the term or on a monthly basis in advance.
